Executive Coaching Course - Athens

First time I have been to Athens and of course my first visit to G reece . So, a great trip really. Not only was I able to spend some time with a good friend but able to combine that with teaching a two day training for a group of people who are almost midway through an Executive Coaching Diploma Course. The training is organised and administered by Impact PCS in Athens, a company that is run by my colleague and attracts delegates from a range of professions. My input to the training is to provide them with the knowledge and skills to incorporate NLP into their already impressive list of tools and competencies. So, that being the task we looked at the general principles and strategies of the coaching model and identified where NLP could integrate with the model. Feedback so far suggests that there were many aspects of the training which people could begin to use in their coaching work, and emails from the group indicate that they are putting the training into practise at a persona...

Psychological Therapies in the NHS

The Improving Access to Psychological Therapies ( IAPT ) programme seeks to deliver on the Government’s 2005 General Election manifesto commitment to provide improved access to psychological therapies for people who require the help of mental health services. It also responds to service user’s requests for more personalised services based around their individuals needs. It will test the effectiveness of providing increases in evidence based psychological therapy services to people with ’common’ mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, in providing improvements in health, well-being and in maintaining people or returning people to employment and community participation. The IAPT programme’s main aims are to: Improve individual’s well-being, satisfaction and choice. Improve access and support to maintain people in work and to help them to return to work. It's been a long time coming

The intention to write this blog has been with me for some time. Leading as, I'm sure we all do, busy lives often things, even important things get left behind. So now I have started lets see where this goes. The focus of the blog will be all , well maybe not all, things that interest me in the fields of Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy, NLP , Counselling and Human/Personal Development. There have been many developments which have taken place in the UK over the last three to four years in the approach to "Talking Therapies" in mental health. Recent government initiatives have begun to create a 4 tier system for mental health service users within the National Health Service.
